Oberheim synth serial number decoder
Find out when your Oberheim synth was made
This tool decodes the serial number from certain models of vintage Oberheim synths and drum machines. I believe it should work on any 70s/80s Oberheim that has a 6 character serial number. I have tested it on serial numbers collected from Oberheim OB-X, OB-Xa, DMX, DSX, OB-SX, DX and DX-1a. It does not work on the 4 digit codes used on some synths such as the OB-1, these do not contain any date information. If you have any of the devices listed above and they fail to decode please do get in contact, likewise if you have another model not listed which appears to decode correctly please let me know. In some cases the first character can be a letter but the rest should be numbers.My related tools : Roland, Boss, Behringer
